ALLORO // LAUREL OLIVE OIL 250ml
In ancient Greece, laurel was considered a symbol of higher status and was used to fashion the laurel wreath which was given to games winners as a prize in honor of Apollo.
Same was in ancient Rome where it was considered a symbol of victory.
It is used as well as a symbol of higher culture as it was given to great poets and it is the source for words like « baccalauréat » and « bachelor ».
Laurel is a tree which grows in the mediterranean area and is used as well in food preparations.
As everything eliting, its flavor is not that easy and immediate to appreciate, as for exemple basil is, but in the correct quantity, laurel olive oil simply elevates soups or grilled meat to the graduated status.
PEPERONCINO // PEPPER OIL 250 ml
Typical of the majority of pepper olive oils on the market or even home made is to be purely and simply hot.
So hot that the typical back taste of pepper which goes together with hot in fresh chilli pepper is completely lost.
On top, so hot that mouth is burned or at least anesthetized; in that way, it is not even possible to taste properly the dish being eaten.
This is why our goal has been to create a pepper olive oil either hot enough to satisfy the taste but not to much to burn the mouth and with a back taste of pepper, typical of fresh chilli pepper.
Our pepper olive oil is perfect on pasta, on pizzas or on a stew with tomato sauce.
GARLIC // AGLIO OLIVE OIL 250 ml
What to say about garlic which has not been already said?
Probably nothing, garlic is used without distinction everywhere in the world for cooking and for its health benefits.
Anyway, some years ago an interview showed that many people love garlic but either they are allergic or they avoid to eat it because of collateral effects.
What about then a garlic flavored oil, without collateral effects (beside allergies)?
It would be perfect, wouldn’t it… ?
Then we would invite you to taste our garlic oil on, ehm… on…
Basically on everything you have in mind!
GINGER // ZENZERO OLIVE OIL 250 ml
After a couple of years of traditional mediterranean flavors we decided it was time to go Far East and we began experiments on different éléments; 3 years ago we picked up Ginger and we went on with the production.
Trigger in this case has been the diffusion of sushi and its pickled ginger slices; art of raw fish has been developped as well in european cooking which differently from oriental has a use of oils on raw food.
Result is a spicy, lightly hot oil, which is perfect on raw or steamed vegetables and on raw fish ; at its best, on seafood and shellfish, particularly prawns and shrimps, both either raw or lightly grilled.
LEMON // LIMONE OLIVE OIL 250 ml
Renown for its desinfecting and anti-bacterial properties, Lemon has always been used fresh on both raw and cooked dishes and even liquors (Limoncello) as it is completely soluble in alcool.
Distinctive of lemon is its sour taste: the juice gives a touch of freshness on lot of preparations and its zest is perfect for baking, having the flavor of lemon without the sourness typical of juice.
The chef of a famous restaurant told us once that in his preparations he would like to taste lemon and not sourness, and it is true that when to much juice of lemon goes on dishes, then every taste disappears but sourness and lemon.
We kept this wish as ours and we transfered into the production: our oil doesn’t taste sour but has the flavor of lemon.
It is perfect on cooked fish, on raw meat like a Carpaccio and for seasoning a salad without adding vinegar.
ROSEMARY // ROSMARINO OLIVE OIL 250 ml
Rosemary is a bush which grows easily everywhere in southern europe and in the mediterranean regions and it has a huge use in recipes from this area.
Freshly used, it has a kind of bitterness, arising from water contained in the leaves, bitterness which disappears while producing our oil.
One of the typical uses of Rosemary is to flavor roast fishes and meats : of course it is used on the Fiorentina steak (Bistecca alla Fiorentina), from the Chianina breed of cattle, which has origins from a valley (Val di Chiana) just few kilometers far from our farm.
Could therefore a Rosemary olive oil miss in our collection? of course not….
Rosemary olive oil is perfect as well on beans, chick peas and soups.
SAGE // SALVIA OLIVE OIL 250 ml
Origin of this bush is again the mediterranean area, but use is highly common all over Europe and America.
Probably because its latin name, Salvia, has the same root as « salvare » (to save) and « salus » (safety, but as well health), it has a benefic effect on the health and it is highly used in lot of preparations like marinated meats, soups and even simply put in butter and fried.
We would therefore suggest to try it on beans, soups with beans base and on tortelloni instead of « butter & sage ».
BASIL // BASILICO OLIVE OIL 250 ml
It is hard to find fresh basil during cold season, mostly in northern countries, and basil is a herb which loses completely its peculiarity when dried.
But what would a simple « Pomodoro & Mozzarella » (Caprese Salad) be without some basil taste? Simply, it won’t be a Caprese Salad, because flavor of basil enhance and combine tastes of tomato and mozzarella.
Flavor of our basil olive oil, persistent but not interfering fresh basil, will allow you to taste a proper Caprese Salad even in lack of fresh basil.
